Echinacea

What it’s good for
Also called purple coneflower, this herb boosts immunity by stimulating white blood cells. Not only is it commonly used to prevent and treat colds, echinacea can be used externally to sooth eczema and psoriasis.

How to take it
Recommended dosage for adults: 1000 mg, three times daily

Safety
If you are allergic to flowers, particularly daisies, you should avoid taking Echinacea. Those who have progressive systemic and auto-immune disorders, connective tissue disorders are not advised to consume this herb either. It should not be used with immuno-suppressants or hepatotoxic drugs, and runs the risk of interfering with anesthesia.
